Lincoln is born in Hardin County (now LaRue County), Kentucky.

Lincoln's brother Thomas dies in Kentucky in infancy.

OCTOBER 5, 1818
Lincoln's mother Nancy dies of illness in Spencer County, Indiana.

DECEMBER 13, 1818
Lincoln's future wife Mary is born to Robert and Eliza Todd in Lexington, Kentucky.

DECEMBER 2, 1819
Lincoln's father marries Sarah Bush Johnston, a widow, in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.

AUGUST 2, 1826
Lincoln's sister Sarah marries Aaron Grigsby in Indiana.
