Lundeen Statue in Springfield, Illinois

You can have your picture taken with "Lincoln" when you visit the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum and Library. You will find this full-size bronze likeness just a block from the museum, located in the southwest corner of Union Park. Sculpted by Colorado artist Mark Lundeen, it depicts Lincoln relaxing on a bench with a copy of his Second Inaugural Address in his hand. There's just enough space beside Lincoln for visitors to pose with Springfield's favorite son or just rest their feet.

Installed in July 2006, this welcoming and friendly-looking statue was donated by Rick and Kim Lawrence for Siciliano, Inc. as a tribute to the workers who built the presidential library and museum. You also can see a copy of the statue outside the University of Illinois alumni center in Urbana.
