Van Den Bergen Statue in Clinton, Illinois
This depiction of President Lincoln is a replica of the original bronze work at Racine, Wisconsin. Dedicated in 1931, it stands in the town square near the site of the DeWitt County courthouse (no longer standing) where Lincoln argued cases as a circuit lawyer.Inscribed on the pedestal is, "That it may not be forgotten that here for nineteen years as a Lawyer and Friends he was Counselor and Teacher of our Forefathers, this Statue is erected by the Citizens of DeWitt County to the Memory of Abraham Lincoln."
